Throwback Daily....

Now this is the first Throwback Song Daily post and I really had to comtemplate and think about which singers brough it strong in the 90's and who had a different sound and ALSO who had some music that could relate to my daily topic The LONG Wait For Love. My top ten contenders were Lauryn Hill, Maxwell, Aaliyah, Brandy, Monica, D'Angelo, Dru Hill, Mary J. Blige, Brian McKnight, or Babyface. I wanted something that made you think when you heard it and something that really set your mind at ease when done hearing it and I DEFINATELY think Erykah Badu did that with "Next Lifetime", at least to me she did. She discusses the rare possibilities of finding some one who you KNOW is your soulmate while you are with your soulmate...strange scenario right?? She SANGS on about how she cannot break up something that isn't broken and how if she can't have the one who admires her from afar this lifetime that she will definately take them up on the offer of love NEXT LIFETIME...indeed a GREAT song and if you haven't turned off my media player when you came on then you TOO will see what i am talking about. I think that you can take this song in many different ways. For example you may know someone who has a Boyfriend or Girlfriend already but at the same time you know you can't hide the feelings you have for that person but you also know that he or she is taken and that he or she is happy so you can not do anything about it but say to yourself hopefully Next Lifetime OR you may know someone who you liked ALOT but didn't take the time to invest in finding out if that person was right for you or not so when the left or moved on you just sat there broken hearted because you saw the possible possibilities but in the end you just said...Next Lifetime. Thats the reason i LOVE this song because you can interpret it in many ways or contexts and that's what makes it sucha good song to think to. And Next Lifetime doesn't always necessarily mean in the after life...it could mean when you get older, when your mind matures and knows what it wants, when life moves onto a new era, etc. This is just a good record period! lol
