Lights...Camera...Action!

Hello Young World!! Okay so is it just me or is does 2009 look like the the year of some of the hottest movies?? Like i'm SO anxious to see some of these movies. I just saw Drag Me to Hell this past Friday and by the way I'm still recovering from some of those crazy, scary and abnormal scenes lol. But during Drag Me to Hell's previews there were ALOT of great movies that I see being at the top of the box office during opening weekend....

The first movie is Sorority Row is a remake of the cult classic House on Sorority Hill. Now i'm not a big fan of remakes and I am sure alot of people out there can say the same thing because I feel as though if the movie was already a classic in the past and still good to the present day why mess it up by remaking it with a horrible plot and script for the audience to just fall asleep on? Now it may be hard to believe but this movie is definately not the average movie remake and it definately has potential of being a classic teen thriller just like Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and House On A Hill were and if not classic's then most definately somewhere on the list of favorites. Now the plot to Sorority Row is about 6 sorority sisters who are approaching graduation from college and are make the last of their final days in college before it is time to step out into the real world and live their lives. When one sorority sister named Meagan finds out her boyfriend cheated on her she tells the other sorority sisters and they decide that payback MUST be paid so they feel an old-fashioned classic sorority prank is the best way to make him pay. While having sex with her boyfriend Meagan plays like her boyfriend killed her while doing it which makes him panic and tell her other sorority sisters. Going along with the plan of Meagan "dying" the other 5 sorority sisters tell Meagans's boyfriend that they can not let he death get out among the college so they must bury her quick before some one finds out. So they decide to take Meagans "dead" body to a steal mill yard and dispose it. One of the sorority sisters, which who is in on the joke and knows that the whole situation is a prank, tells Meagans boyfriend that Meagans body needs to be stabbed into pieces to make it look like she was murdered by some one. While the other girls are laughing and "searching" for an objest to stab Meagan with they turn around to find that Meagans boyfriend stabbing her with a crow bar for the fact that he thought he literally killed her. The whole prank turns into a nightmare and the sorority sisters and Meagans boyfriend decide that they need to dispose Meagan's FOR REAL this time and keep the whole prank gone bad a secret for if they told it could ruin all of their lives so they dispose her body in a deep hole at the steal mill factory and leave it there going on with the rest of their college lives. As they go on with their college lives they think everything is okay and unknown until ONE DAY they get a text on the phone with a picture of the crow bar that Meagan's boyfriend used to kill her with. They all feel trouble is around the corner and trouble does ensure for now a mysterious figure in a black hooded robe and hook is after them for what they did.....This movie just gives me chills just writing about it lol and i DEFINATELY will be there to see it opening weekend and to any of The Hills fans, Audrina Patridge will star in the movie as the short-lived and innoncent Meagan. I wonder how her acting is...?? This film actually is ALOT similar to I Know What You Did Last Summer and that is my favorite movie so i'm hoping that this one is just as good but we shall see...

The next movie that looks pretty promising is Orphan. Now this movie I saw the preview for when I saw The Last House On The Left and I must say I was pulled RIGHT into wanting to see the rest of the movie ASAP. I see it's potential at the box-office and hopefully it will do good, but I will say that this movie might make me mad because as you know this is similar to alot of other movies with the plot of an orphan coming into a happy family and causing hell and Lord KNOWS i can't take "problem childs" lol. But overall I am looking forward to it. The plot is about a happily married couple named John and Kate, who lose their baby during pregnancy. John and Kate decide to adopt a 9-year-old girl who is not nearly as innocent as she claims to be. Kate becomes increasingly alarmed that something evil lurks beneath the girl's sweet facade and tries to convince her family of Esther's evil but will Esther cast her rath before Kate can save her family from hell? Grab your tickets and see....

The last movie is titled Precious. Precious is a film based on the 1996 novel entitled Push by author Saaphire. It is said that Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey have singed onto direct the film and also Mo'nique, Mariah Carey, Paula Patton and Lenny Kravits will have main roles throughout also. The film premiered in January 2009 at the Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award and the Grand Jury Prize for best drama, as well as a Special Jury Prize for supporting actress Mo'Nique. The film is about a teenage girl named Precious Jones who has big dreams and hopes to live a better life someday, but her reality in return is more cruel to her then her dreams for she is over-weight, pregnant and lives at home with her abusive mother who is played by Mo'Nique. Precious feels that she has no worth and that she basically deserves nothing in life until the people around her, such as her Guidance Counselor, convince Precious that in order to be happy one has to love oneself deep down inside. I really want to see this movie! When I saw the preview for it when I saw Madea Goes to Jail i was hooked and the trailor to it is VERY sad and if watched, just might bring you to tears because it is THAT powerful and realistic. If you haven't seen the trailer PLEASE go to Youtube.com and type in Precious Movie in the search box to see what i am talking about. I feel that Precious is a film we as American's need today in society for we need to know that love and happiness doesn't come from others but really it comes from deep down within ourselves and I honestly think that is something that has been forgotten today in our nation...we rely too much on what other think and feel that we allow that to overshadow who we really are...TOPIC!...i'm gonna write a blog about this movie and the nature and subject around it BUT in the mean time...go and see the damn movie!! Definately worth the 10 bucks...
*To see these films catch them in theathers on October 2, 2009 (Sorority Row), July 24, 2009 (Orphan), and November 6, 2009 (Precious)
